Welcome to St. Chads Scouts
Welcome to the St. Chads Scout Group. We are a member of Scouts Aotearoa, New Zealand’s leading youth organisation, serving over 13,000 young people all across New Zealand, and part of the world’s largest non-formal education institution.
St Chads Scout Group is a growing, well organised, fun Scouting group based in Meadowbank, Auckland.
We equip young people (both boys and girls) with life skills including problem-solving, teamwork, citizenship, and healthy living. We also provide them with access to a large range of outdoor activities.
We currently offer four Scout Sections:
Keas - aged 6 to 8 years. Our Keas meet on Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 5:15pm to 6:15pm at the St. Chads Scout Den.
Cubs - aged 8 to 10½ years. Our Cubs meet on Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm at the St. Chads Scout Den.
Scouts - aged 10½ to 15 years. Our Scouts meet on Monday or Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the St. Chads Scout Den.
Venturers - aged 15 to 18 years. Our Venturers meet on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the St. Chads Scout Den.
All our Leaders are trained volunteers who have attended Scouts NZ Training and been issued with a Leaders Warrant.
The Group is run entirely by volunteers and parents are asked to help with this. Help can be in many forms including parent rosters for help on section nights, committee memberships and warranted leaders. Our group is growing and we need more leaders, people that care their children get the most out of life. Please consider becoming a leader, warranted leader's children do not pay annual fees. Being a leader is a very rewarding, fun experience and a great way to positively contribute to the growth of our youth. To find out more please contact the Group Leader [stchads@group.scouts.nz]
Scouting New Zealand
As members of Scouting New Zealand the Group is established and protected by an enactment of the Legislature of New Zealand entitled “The Scout Association of New Zealand Act 1956”. As such all our Adult Leaders hold an Leaders Warrant from Scouts New Zealand and have undergone training and Police vetting before being allowed to work with the youth members. In accepting their Warrants they have also agreed to abide by the policies of the Association and to attend further training as offered
